Japanese & Italian Quail

Cotswold Chickens now has a selection of quail available in large or small quantities.  The Italian quail is lighter in colour and lighter in body weight from the Japanese quail, the Japanese quail are dual purpose being slightly heavier than the Italian but still a great layer.
The quail are point of lay and all females.

Quail are becoming more and more popular due to their small size meaning small groups of 6-12 birds can be kept happily together to produce lots of lovely little speckled eggs. They will eat layers pellets (if small enough) or layers mash and kept in a similar way to chickens; they will require higher levels of protein in their diet and more shelter from the wind and rain with Coop Covers. They cannot be kept with chickens or free ranged due to their small size.

Both types of quail are £14.50 each, discount for larger quantities is available - please call for further information.
